Founder | Head Trainer | Adult Life-long Athlete Coach

FAST Athletics owner Jayme Pantekoek has more than 15 years of experience as an athletic performance coach and has trained over 1,000 athletes, including more than 200 college and professional athletes.

While many training programs use similar exercises such as squats and bench, Jayme takes his program to the next level by honing in on the science behind speed and explosivity.

Jayme has also had the privilege to work and learn from some of the most knowledgeable and well-respected people in the athletic performance training field. Jayme took this foundation and spent the past decade creating a training method all his own: Force Application for Sport Transfer (FAST for short).

Jayme takes pride in teaching and helping the athletes he works with to become the best that they can be, whether they are new to the weight room or a seasoned veteran. As former division 1 decathlete himself, Jayme knows what it takes to help athletes reach their full potential.

He also knows from personal experience that improper training such as overtraining can be just as harmful to an athlete as not training at all. This is what drove Jayme’s passion to create a training method that maximizes performance safely and sustainably.

Jayme’s own personal accreditations start with an undergrad degree in Kinesiology, master's degrees in Exercise Physiology and Cardiac Physiology, Reflexive Performance Reset Specialist, Functional Range Conditioning Master, and certifications at the National Academy of Speed and Explosion, NAFC Nutrition Certification and CrossFit Certification.

Growing up an athlete his whole life, John has been involved in sports performance training since middle school. This is where his passion for performance-based training began. In garnering life-changing relationships with all of his trainers, he knew he wanted to be that for someone else. After his impressive high school and collegiate football career ended, Johns's passion for sports performance grew. He has coached and trained athletes as young as 8 years olds all the way up to lifelong athletes in their 60’s. John’s journey has given him the experience and knowledge of how to connect with, motivate, as well as serve athletes and individuals to be their best in and out of the weight room. The opportunity to do this for anyone who walks through FAST’S doors is what gets him out of bed in the morning



Private Performace Specialist

Jodi has been involved in athletic development as both a teacher and coach for over 15 years. He discovered his passion for athletic performance first as an athlete himself, and then again as a physical education teacher and sports coach. As teacher and coach, he was driven to help his students become better athletes and rediscovered the world of athletic performance.

Jodi continued to develop his passion and further his knowledge of athletic performance by pursuing his Master’s Degree in Kinesiology at the University of Minnesota. During his second year of graduate school, Jodi dove deeper into the world of athletic performance serving as a full-time intern in the strength and conditioning department, working with 18 different teams and several great coaches.

Over the last eight years since graduate school, Jodi has had an abundance of coaching opportunities; working with many athletes of all levels, from youth to the pros. He has held performance coaching roles in private training facilities and worked with specific high school programs including Centennial, Hill Murray, and Cretin Derham.  Although Jodi has had the opportunity to work with many of Minnesota’s best performance coaches such as Cal Dietz of the University of Minnesota, Dan Meinz of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, and Sean Skahan of the Minnesota Wild; he has also held performance coaching roles with the Gillette Wild of the North American Hockey League, as well as Andrews Hockey Growth Program of Eastern Canada.

As a performance coach, Jodi’s biggest motivation and focus is on growth; both for himself and his athletes. Over his career, he has strived to continue his growth by learning from the best coaches in the field and is excited to join Jayme and the staff at FAST and continue to further his expertise. Jodi believes strongly that there is always room for improvement, and is highly passionate to be a continual learner; so that he can then help his athletes achieve maximal improvement and optimal performance.

Along with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology, Jodi is also certified as a Strength and Conditioning Specialist by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, Performance Enhancement Specialist by the National Academy of Sports Medicine and a Minnesota licensed PE Teacher.


Private Performace Specialist

My name is Peter Heiam and I’m interested in training because it’s something I’m passionate about. I enjoy training because it’s a way you can better yourself no matter what you do whenever. There’s always a learning experience behind working out, it’s not just about lifting weights and becoming stronger. For me, it has a meaning of knowing your limits and being able to push yourself past those each and every time you train. I also believe it’s one of the best things for you because it’s you versus you, it’s something you control and don’t have to rely on anything else to affect your outcome.


I’ve been working out for the majority of my life given that I’ve played hockey and lacrosse since I was young. I also have older brothers who were in similar sports so I'd always see them going to work out. I’m no longer an athlete but working out has given me the ability to still be competitive with myself and it also allows me to stay fit. I also love training because you get to see people push themselves to places they never thought were capable.

With my experience of training kids and teens I see and hear about how they don’t want to workout or exercise because it’s seen as a chore, but I want to communicate that training is something that should be seen as a privilege. you’re allowed to stay healthy, become stronger, faster, etc. just by putting in work over a frame of time.  This is why I love training.



Group Fitness Instructor

Missy Bruggeman is a Minnesota native who graduated from the University of St. Thomas ('09) with a double major of Health/PE, and a Master's in Teaching ('11). She's a four-year starter and former First Team All-American outfielder for the Tommie softball program, which led her to her passion of coaching at the collegiate level after playing. She spent 2 years as an assistant with the Tommies, 2 years as a head coach at Southwest Minnesota State and 2 years as the hitting and outfield coach at DI Stony Brook University (NY).


After six years of coaching she left the NCAA to start her own business as a lifestyle mentor, working specifically with nutrition. As soon as she left coaching she began her career as a fitness instructor teaching group and individual fitness for gyms, boutique cycling studios, CorePower Yoga, and barre studios in New York and San Diego. She recently moved back to Excelsior to be closer to family. She enjoys working out, being around fun and positive communities, concerts, festivals, meditating, traveling and sharing her vision of helping others find their "True North" in life.
